When I first began my business in 1999, I conducted a direct mail market research campaign that reached over 5,000 small business owners on the North Olympic Peninsula.  The campaign was simple.  It consisted of a short questionnaire. 

The most significant question was, "What is the biggest problem that you face as a small business owner?"  This question -- I knew -- would be the most important, becuase I was determined to build my business by helping small business owners with their problems.

By far and large the redounding answer was "Effective Marketing."  All small business owners need help with marketing that works, not just throwing money at something, but something that works.  Well, that is what my company does.  I actually developed my business's Mission Statement to address the biggest problem that small business owners face -- effective marketing.
